Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution, does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

The Athens area offers a wide variety of meetings tailor made for both the newcomer as well those with long term sobriety. This diverse meeting schedule includes open and closed discussion meetings, big book studies, 12 step meetings, speaker meetings, grapevine discussion meetings, primary purpose big book study, men's meetings, women's meetings as well as a newcomers meeting guaranteeing everyone can find the support network best suited for their journey. The Athens community hold many outstanding meetings, though all groups are autonomous they still complement each other, creating a strong foundation for recovery and ensuring the hand of AA is always there. Saturday Night Live has undertaken many exciting events; so far, we've held a 6-mile canoe trip, down the beautiful hocking river, A fall scenic train ride. through hocking valley, a Halloween party and now brace yourselves and get ready for the next incredibly exciting and memorable shindig.
RISE And RECOVER COOK-OUT is just around the corner in April. All events will include a Saturday Night Live meeting.
